Family Fun Day!

The Water Beckons

The beach we chose to visit is only about 45 minutes away so we were able to finish our morning routine and still make it to our destination by fairly early in the afternoon.

The kids strolled around a bit, breathing in the refreshing salt air, enjoying the roar of the ocean, all the wonderful sensations being at the beach brings to life.

Racing The Waves They chased and were chased in turn by the waves

Tall Dark and HandsomeThey wondered at their fellow beach goers

A Boy And His Trowel They dug in the sand

Surf's Up! Pa played chicken with the tide

Rock Hunting And we all scrambled up on the jetty, in search of the resident Orcas. Pa and the kids all managed a brief peek of two of them as they sped by. I didn't quite make it up in time. Too bad I was the one in charge of the camera! Oh well. Maybe next time.

After a couple hours it was time to head home. We stopped off in Charleston on the way and picked up some fresh fish for dinner. It was the perfect ending to a perfect day!

Oh my goodness...I would have love to be that close to a beach and have a Family Fun Day like that!! Your pictures are just gorgeous and you can see by looking at the sky that you had a beautiful day outside! I loved how you described all the sensations of being at a beach; I could almost smell the air and hear the roar! LOVELY! :)
